Confini, identità ed integrazione: nuove prospettive per l’ Alto Adriatico

Milan Bufon
Trst, SLORI, 2002

The main argument refers to the development of the border lines of the Upper Adriatic in relation to the Slovene community in Italy. The area around Gorizia proves to be particularly interesting as on one hand it is divided by a political and administrative border, but on the other it is characterized by an intense level of cross-border cooperation. The author also looks at the area between Trieste and Istria from the point of view of the development of an integrated Euro Region, which is at the same time scarred by the three-party border. He dwells upon the topic of the evolution of borders at a European level with a prospect of surmounting the conflicting border relationships in the Upper Adriatic area.
