Project implementation period: 2024-2025

Recent findings from research groups in Italy (HBSC, 2022) and Slovenia (SLOfit, 2020) report a steady increase (or decrease) in important physical and functional parameters of children and adolescents and their changing attitudes toward certain value categories, such as attitudes toward sports, health, education, nutrition, etc.
The topic of healthy lifestyles is very complex and multifaceted, so the project has an interdisciplinary and comparative approach. Its qualitative part involves not only the analysis of objective parameters, but also a comprehensive consideration of the links with the surrounding environment and its most influential factors.
The project is based on the simultaneous consideration of selected variables in the field of physical and motor development of children and youth, in the field of sociology (socio-economic status, growth environment, identity, educational achievement, etc.) and the links between them.
A research project has been planned in 2023 and is scheduled to start in school year 2024/25. The main goal of the project is to identify the most relevant physical and motor characteristics of the foreign primary and secondary school population and to compare them with data available at the Slovenian (SLOfit), Italian and European levels, which has not been done so far.
