Matejka Grgič, PhD

Matejka Grgič studied Philosophy and Slovene language at the University of Trieste. After graduating in 1997, she obtained a Master’s degree (2001) and a PhD (2005) from the Faculty of Arts at the University of Ljubljana. She has worked as a junior researcher, a teaching assistant, and a lecturer in the field of language sciences. She currently cooperates with several universities across Slovenia and Italy. Moreover, she works as a translator, interpreter and proofreader. She is also the author of numerous popular scientific radio programmes and articles. From 2008 to 2016 she was the Scientific director of the Slovenian Education Consortium (Slov.I.K). Since 2016 she has been working as a research fellow at the Slovene Research Institute (SLORI) and as of 2018, she has also started working as a teaching assistant at the Department of Translation Studies, Faculty of Arts at the University of Ljubljana.
