Andreja Kalc

Andreja Kalc obtained a BA in Slovene and Russian from the Faculty of Arts of the University of Ljubljana, Slovenia, where she also obtained a Master in contemporary Russian poetry. After teaching Slovene and Russian as foreign languages, she has been a literary translator and proofreader for the past ten years. She was a lecturer of Slovene at T. Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, Ukraine during the academic year 2018/2019. She is the Vice-president of the Slovenian Proofreaders’ Association and a member of the Slovenian Association of Literary Translators. She was awarded the Faculty of Arts Prešeren Award for Students and the Radojka Vrančič Award for Young Translators. Currently, she deals primarily with the usability of language practices and it is thanks to her interest in this topic that she started to work closely with the Slovene Research Institute (SLORI). She is the author of several papers on literary translation.
