The publication entitled Odprava nadzora na slovensko-italijanski meji enajst let pozneje: raziskava o pogledih in stališčih ljudi na učinke vstopa Slovenije v šengenski prostor (The abolition of border controls on the Slovene-Italian border eleven years on: public opinion research on the impact of Slovenia’s accession to the Schengen) area is based on research examining the impact of Slovenia’s accession to the Schengen area on the everyday life of the inhabitants of the municipality of Dolina and, by and large, the people living in the border area. The research had two goals. First, it sought to establish the impact of Slovenia’s accession to the Schengen area on the people living on both sides of the border. Second, it aimed to explore new opportunities and the untapped potential arising from the abolition of border controls on the Slovene-Italian border. Data was collected in a survey.
