The work is the updated doctorate dissertation on the socio-geographical role of the Slovene people in the integration processes of the bordering region Gorizia-Nova Gorica. The work analyses also the effects of the socio-economic regional development of the area in the process of the overall cross-border links. The Italian area where the Slovene people is present is specifically analysed, considering the bicultural reality in which the latter lives.
