The Slovene Economic Association of Gorizia was founded in 1977 and immediately integrated with the regional Slovene Economic Association. However the characteristics and special necessities of the Isonzo area brought about a split 15 years later and since then the SGZ has worked autonomously. The association is divided into four sections: foreign trade, small trade, craftmanship and public catering; in addition to which there is also a consulting centre for the use of its members.
