Project management: Norina Bogatec
Project implementation period: 2018-2020

The dossier on Slovene in Italy contains an updated text of the earlier 2004 dossier. The introduction comprises a description of the general features of the Slovene language and the Slovene national community in the region of Friuli-Venezia Giulia, and the legal framework pertaining to the use of this language in the border area. This is followed by a detailed analysis of the administrative and organizational aspects of the Slovene educational network and educational activities in Slovene, and an overview of the latest research and issues related to education in the Slovene language in Italy and Slovene-language learning in general. The dossier is rounded off by statistical information, relevant references, and the addresses of Slovene institutions and organizations.

The material was edited by SLORI researcher Norina Bogatec in cooperation with Maria Bidovec, Matejka Grgič, Miran Košuta, Maja Mezgec, Tomaž Simčič and Pavel Slamič.
