Commissioned research project

Project promotion: the Anton Gregorčič Club
Project fulfilment: the Slovene Research Institute (SLORI)
Project supervision: Norina Bogatec, researcher at SLORI
Project implementation period: June–December 2018

This survey is an integral part of the project Joining Forces to Reach a Common Goal, which was conceived at the 10th anniversary of the death of Dr Mirko Špacapan. The project was selected at the extraordinary call for proposals of the Friuli Venezia Giulia Autonomous Region for the implementation of a comprehensive programme aimed at promoting and enhancing the use of the Slovene language (in accordance with article 7 of Regional Law 25/2017).

The survey aimed to gather information on the awareness of Slovene ethnic community members on the political situation and the development of the Slovene minority living in Italy, as well as to collect their opinions on the current political activity within the community and the organisation of local political parties.

The survey included 268 members of cultural, sport and youth associations and organisations that operate in the Trieste, Gorizia and Udine provinces.
