A research section in the Primorski dnevnik daily newspaper

A promotional project conducted by the Slovene Research Institute (SLORI)

Project promotion: the Slovene Research Institute (SLORI)
Project management: Jaruška Majovski
Project implementation period: January–August 2018

One of the main tasks of the Slovene Research Institute is to ensure that the intellectual knowledge of the Slovene people living in Italy is appropriately matched with professional skills. To this end, the Institute created a list of over one hundred academics, researchers and PhD students who identify as members of the Slovene ethnic community. One purpose of such a functional information network is to promote intellectual growth among the members of the Slovene ethnic community in Italy by ensuring a better inclusion of these experts in the existing social system.

To this end a research section has been designed and will feature in the Sunday edition of the Primorski dnevnik daily newspaper every fortnight. This section will take up a whole page and will be divided into various sub-sections: the main part will consist of an interview with a researcher. The interview will be preceded by a brief introduction, while at the side of the page there will be a box containing some interesting news in the field of research, as well as upcoming events promoted by the Slovene Research Institute (SLORI). This project aims to promote research work by introducing individual researchers to a larger readership. It has been designed specifically to foster a closer cooperation between individuals with scientific or technical know-how and other members of the Slovene ethnic community in Italy. Participants in this project will be experts in various topical subjects and issues concerning the life of the Slovene people in Italy. The topics will be presented in such a way to appeal to a broad readership. This section aims to encourage a high-quality informed discussion, introducing complex topics in a reader-friendly way. When preparing the contents, special attention will be paid to the language used. The register will not be too technical, so as to make this section appealing to all the readers of Primorski dnevnik.
