Up until the beginning of the 20th century the Slovene-speaking population played an important role in the local community. The monograph illustrates the peculiar features of the Slovene language variety spoken in the Laglesie-San Leopoldo village and explains the origin and meaning of various house names. The area&#8217;s linguistic landscape is presented through maps and historical documents, as well as transcriptions of oral testimonies of speakers of the local language variety who were born in the 1920s.
