Second, it aimed to explore new opportunities and the\nuntapped potential arising from the abolition of border controls on the\nSlovene-Italian border. Data for this qualitative research was collected\nthrough interviews and direct contact with the local population. A snowball method was\nadopted, based on face-to-face interviews. Interviewees varied in age, level of\neducation, occupation and place of living. Interviews were carried out between\nJuly and September 2018. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In 2018, research\nresults were published in a volume entitled <em>T<\/em><em>he abolition of\nborder controls on the Slovene-Italian border eleven years on<\/em>.
