After obtaining a BA and an MA in Modern History at the Faculty of Arts of the University of Trieste, Štefan Čok completed a PhD in European and Mediterranean History at the Faculty of Humanities of the University of Primorska (Koper, Slovenia). His scientific research focuses on the contemporary history of the North Adriatic region, in particularly on Slovene-Italian relations in the town of Trieste. He has participated in several projects aimed at passing down historical memory to younger generations. In 2011, he founded a cross-border section of the International Students of History Association (ISHA) and became its first president. Since 2015, he has been working with the History and Ethnography Department of the Slovene National and Study Library in Trieste, as well as participating in various projects for schoolchildren organised by the 47-04 Association. He has been the president of the Dialoghi Europei Study Centre of Trieste since June 2017. He started working with the Slovene Research Institute (SLORI) in 2011.
