SLORI published this work while celebrating its 40th anniversary. The book (eng. The researching of Slovenians in Italy) is curated by the founding member and current President of the Supervisory board Sergij Lipovec, and in its preparation many members of the Directors’ board and collaborators of the institute have participated.
The publication contains four separate chapters which present clearly and in depth the period in which the institute was founded, its 40-year-long historical development, its current structure and activity and the numerous challenges and development perspectives that expect it in the future. In a special chapter, memories and testimonies of some of the founding members, of former Presidents and researchers are collected in the form of interviews, while in the annexes the main scientific achievements of the institute and its rich bibliography are collected.
This is therefore a publication that illustrates the consolidated role of the institute in creating and disseminating knowledge on Slovenians in Italy, on connecting and directing the minority’s intellectual potential, and last but not least on promoting intercultural coexistence in the ever more open Slovenian-Italian cross-border area.
