This booklet contains the contribution by Pavle Merkù read at the Conference on “Dialects, Literary Cultures and Languages” held in ?edad – Cividale in November 1980. The author analyses the dialect of the Torre Valleys – Terske Doline, its territory and its features, and offers a personal view on the measures needed to bring about linguistic and cultural rebirth in this part of Beneška Slovenija – Slavia Friulana.
