The training programme entitled Slovene as a teaching language in the Italian-Slovene language contact area was selected at the call for proposals for accredited training programmes, aimed at teachers in Slovene-language schools in Italy. The accreditation procedure was conducted by the Department for Slovene-language schools at the Friuli Venezia Giulia Regional School Office. The aim of this training programme was to offer support to teachers and educators so as to help them implement efficient and effective teaching methods in Slovene language classes.

The topics addressed include: the sociological, psychological and anthropolinguistic features of minority and regional languages, as well as other languages of focus; learning about the sociological, psychological and anthropolinguistic features of the Slovene language as a minority language spoken in Italy; addressing, defining and analysing Italian-Slovene language contact phenomena; getting acquainted with online and offline resources that are instrumental in implementing appropriate, efficient and effective teaching methods when teaching Slovene as a minority language.
